GOAL
To create an intergalactic version of chess where players collect new characters across different planets and timelines, enabling new ways to play and strategize.
STATUS
The game is currently being tested with early prototypes at local games shows and playtesting events in the Chicagoland area.

ADAPTING A CLASSIC
To innovate the classic game of chess, we added unique character abilities and play-styles. We conducted users tests to gauge the complexity of character customization and found players preferred simple customizable attributes to not make gameplay feel overly complex or slow.



ADDING AN AERIAL VIEW
After testing isometric gameplay, players requested a toggle to switch between an angled view of the board and a more objective top-down view. This enhanced our players ability to strategize with minimal distractions.

USER TESTING EARLY FEATURES
To start, the design had more jovial character proportions with an emotional memory system. After our tests, we found that target audiences interested in chess strategy were also seeking more mature gameplay, proportions, and storytelling.


ADDING COLLECTIBLE SKINS
As a reward for completing rare achievements, players can unlock relics that change the look of their active court.
